Inspired by furniture design from the 1940s to midcentury design from the 1970s, this chair is designed with contemporary solutions and details. This results in a personal modern interpretation of a design that seems lost in time, but is revived by this innovation.

The details of the armrest and backrest are made by heating and shaping the steel with a hammer (like an iron smith does).
The chair is made of tubular steel with a diameter of 25 mm, the back and seat are made of rough black leather of 4 mm that blends beautifully with the rough polished metal. which reminds us of chairs by Marcel Breuer and Mies van der Rohe.

The leather slides through a slot in the frame and is tensioned from below by a tensioning screw. The leather is held in place by wing nuts.
This is the first of 3 chairs I made for tests and experiments.
Second chair in which all aspects of my research are reflected. The chair was formed by heating and hammering the iron, giving it its color and shape.
I made this chair for the jury and design assignment of design and realization in the third year of interiordesign Luca School of Arts Brussels. The assignment was: create a piece of furniture or object that you would like to put into production one
